If you're looking to save money and don't want a stroller that doubles up as car seat carriers, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's also a breeze to push and feels solid when you're navigating kerbs and woodland pathways. It's also easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a name as the ultimate light-weight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold-down that fits into the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. This latest version features independent suspension on all 4 wheels made of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to 'perfectly traverse all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base with a curved fabric bassinet as well as a the 6+ month color pack combine to make a stylish and elegant pushchair that is easy on the eyes and has a subtle but elegant design and stylish branding. The frame's base weight is less than a kilo, and is so lightweight that you can lift it from the box with one hand.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy however, it isn't able to bend as much as other wagons that we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the other models, and it does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and can fit through doors with a width of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great option for parents looking for a secondary stroller that's affordable. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and size folded, which means it's very lightweight, small when collapsed and easy to put into a car trunk or closet. It also comes with a multi-position reclined seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include two large hanging storage bags and 360-degree front wheels that are shock-absorbing.

It performed better in our push and turn test than most of the strollers we tested, but was nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only a direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger canopy sizes.

The Delta took us just over three minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. However, it is missing some essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable for a double stroller such as an extra-large basket and reclining seats that have adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the newest addition to Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It can be used from birth until 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted with only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It includes a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in car-base and a reversible car seat.

The seat can be reclined using one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it simple for parents to get their child in and out. This compact pushchair can handle everyday bumps and doorways with ease.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward position and can also swivel. This is helpful in rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to swivel during our walk on a stony path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem slightly more bumpy.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is famous for their 3-wheeler, all-terrain jogging pushchairs, but they also offer a great range of 4-wheeler strollers. The City Tour 2 is one of their most popular models. It folds easily and can fit in the trunk of a car even with an attached carrycot.

It's heavier than other strollers we tested, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-constructed. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain and it's easy to move even with two kids and a shopping bag.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be lowered to reveal UV50+ sun canopy extension. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other prams hoods which can be blown back onto toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it does have an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also pair it with the Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies up 20 lbs (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

Nuna Mixx was a stroller that captured the hearts of many parents when it first came out. It's an aluminum-framed stroller which can be used from the baby's first days to beyond. It has many standout features, such as the capacity of the seat to flip between parent and world facing as well as a large UPF50+ canopy with a flip-out eyeshade, and an adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and filled with foam which minimizes punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension that takes the sting out of rough terrain. It was simple to push and our test driver was able to maneuver the vehicle through the narrow streets.

It folds down in four easy steps, and locks automatically without hassle. It can also be folded and repositioned for easy transportation down the stairs or in the boot of the car. It also comes travel system equipped with the option to add a car seat or carrycot using the included adaptors. The brakes are simple to use with single action, colour coded and flip-flop-friendly.

7. Babyzen Duet

This single lightweight stroller pushchair that is budget-friendly is extremely easy to use and comes with great dual suspension, one-hand fold and a practical carry strap. It's also super lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined into a variety of different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't ideal - it's not as silent as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

In twin mode the seats can be positioned so that they face each the other. They can also be oriented to face the parents. This should lessen sibling fights about who sits with mom and dad. It comes with a big gear tray, a bottle holder and snack trays. It also comes with a folding stand that folds down and a frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is the ideal jogger for parents that like to be active. It's among the lightest running strollers that you can buy for your child and offers amazing safety features, including five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It also features an innovative twist hand brake that's different than the lever type used on rival models.

The seat is comfortable and has plenty of room to sit in, however the seat's depth is not as deep as other joggers we've tested (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin has an enclosed zipper to help keep items safe. It can hold up to 10 lbs which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats as of yet, but you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands such as BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds up compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and comes in a variety of languages.
