Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. The project is dubbed Space key lamborghini aventador and created in collaboration with an unknown artist and inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was delivered to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar maker, is taking a first step into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project - called the Space Key - is a piece of art made in collaboration with an artist who is not known. The unique NFT is a tangible item that has a link to exclusive digital artwork accessible through a QR code on the back. The project is a limited edition and will be auctioned off in the next few weeks.

The Space Key is made from carbon fiber composite material which Lamborghini shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of an experiment. The carbon fiber was then created into a distinctive artwork after it returned to Earth. The physical element has an NFT serial code that connects to the digital art work via a QR code on the back.

The physical component of the Space Key

Space Key consists of five units. They were constructed using a real piece of carbon fiber composite that was sent to the ISS in 2019. Each NFT will be linked with an exclusive digital artwork created by the same artist by using a QR code on the backside of the carbon fiber element. The digital artwork

After several weeks of social media posts that hinted at it, a prestigious car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The project is dubbed the Space Petron Key To Lamborghini (Maskvision00.Werite.Net), it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork NFT by an unidentified artist. The "collectors' piece" was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth, the block was inscribed with a QR codes that connect to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the lamborghini countach key Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was taken by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual shots which were then merged into the final image. The result is an amazing out of the world image that reveals the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic picture of the car rising from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned soon, but there's no precise date or location yet.

The auction

The auctions, which take place between February 1 and February 4, will last for 75 hours and 50 minutes - the same time it took Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter the lunar orbit. The five NFTs can be purchased by creating an account online. Each NFT will be sold individually and the winner will get a digital artwork by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner that captures five different moments the Space Key experienced during its space voyage.
