WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item upgrader kit and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an Item level upgrade (Justbookmark.win) for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrades upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
