Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item is an item that can make certain Pokemon develop. The Upgrade can be obtained by spinning a PokeStop's picture disc and is sometimes offered as a reward during Pokemon GO events.

Upgrades can be used on armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools in order to raise their item upgrading level. The upgrade costs Flightstones or crests depending on the type of item.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armors, weapons and other tools for gathering in order to add attributes bonuses or other effects while the equipment being used. The equipment being upgraded must have an upgrade slot that can accept the component, and the majority of upgrade components require the item level upgrade to be upgraded to be at the specified level. Certain upgrade items come with special visual effects that are visible when they are applied. The majority of upgrade components can be replaced when they are inserted into an item upgrader, but doing so can destroy the previous upgrade. The exceptions are glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which are able to be removed and reinserted freely.

Insignias and enchantments will display their name in the hover display of the item, while upgrades with suffix and prefix will add their name to the end of the name of the equipment (e.g. for example, a Radiant Insignia on Tyrian Armor would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components that have been added to an equipment piece will be displayed in the tooltip for the item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add decorative or functional elements, like ligatures, fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols, and ellipses. The Glyphs panel allows you to look up and insert these unique characters, as well as standard glyphs such as em dashes, en dashes registered trademark symbols, as well as glyphs that don't appear in other fonts (such as dingbats).

Each Glyph gives an initial boost to the stats of the character. It also comes with up to four Secondary Stats that affect the glyph's radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase that is multiplied when other bonuses have been applied, with the exception of Speed Glyphs which directly increase the speed of the hero.

The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them, and then clicking the "enchant" button. You can level up Glyphs by completing Tree of Whisper Quests or Nightmare Dungeons. The more difficult a dungeon is, the more Glyph experience you'll gain. Once a Glyph is at level 15, it can be upgraded via the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The Paragon Board's radius increases by one node for every 15 levels at which a Glyph is upgraded.

Once a Glyph has reached the desired level you can activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The Glyph you create will provide its stated benefit, and boost other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. It is important to place glyphs in the Best item upgrader locations to benefit your game, which is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Some glyphs, however, could offer double bonuses when certain conditions are met, so they're worth looking out for.

Click the cycle widget to alter the view of the Glyphs Panel. Each view shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow the list of glyphs further by selecting an option below "Entire Font": for example, punctuation only shows punctuation glyphs; Math Symbols reduces the choices to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling

Rerolling involves establishing an account with a brand new username in order to increase your chances of getting the weapon or character you'd like. It is done to increase your level faster, or to obtain better loot such as a new weapon for your character. Many players reroll until they get the characters that they like, regardless of their power. It could be that they like the style or the personality of the character.

When you reroll, you need be sure that the changes you are making are safe. You should check locally whether the patch is approved by pre-commit and run a core dev check. You should also upload the patch to an issue by using plain diff (see What's the deal with an interdiff? ).

Rerolls can take days or weeks depending on how lucky you are. To speed up the process avoid the enemy camps which are not mandatory during this period. You should also avoid re-doing quests that can be completed later on in the game. This will save you time and energy.

When rerolling, it's important to be aware of the upgrade system. There are many ways to boost your character's power and appearance. This could include upgrading your weapons, rerolling your characters and purchasing upgrades. It is also important to be aware of the limitations of the system.
