Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides an increase in linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle six items at one time to get a gauge of each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level.
