The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or allow them to rotate which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. While walking on the stony path, we let them swivel and it handled this fairly well, though it did appear a little bumpier than others on test.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is most well-known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, strollers for jogging. But they also make a broad selection of pushchairs with four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most popular models. It is simple to fold and fits into the boot of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It's a little heavier than other strollers we test, but the wheels are a rubber composite so it feels well-made and durable. It is easy to maneuver over different terrains, and even with two children, a shopping bag and other items.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be lowered to reveal a UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are waterproof and strong unlike other prams' hoods which are bounced back into toddlers faces.

It's not the biggest of storage space, however it does have a big basket that's big enough to hold a changing bag and plenty of groceries.
