Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain stroller that is light, durable and offers great maneuverability. The compact fold that can be folded with just one hand makes it easy to carry. It also stands on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines to an almost flat position and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. Baby-friendly? Yes, with an additional carrycot.

A well-constructed suspension and air-filled tires will allow you navigate through rough terrain. You can also use it for jogging. However, you must wait until the baby is at least 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba Air

This lightweight pushchair by Ickle Bubba comes with a variety of features that parents will love. The travel system includes a lie flat carrycot for newborns and a multi-position forward and rear facing seat for a pushchair.

The XL Air is a really impressive vehicle, and it's easy to understand why it has received such high praise from its customers. It's incredibly light - both the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg - and it's also extremely simple to construct. I was able get it up and running in under five minutes - which is amazing considering that it included the ability to attach fabric to the carrycot.

It has a nice, wide seat that is comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is very simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I am impressed that the handle bar comes with a pocket to keep your keys and phone secure.

The only slight downside is the handlebar is low, which could be an issue for parents who are taller. It's covered with a soft, comfortable leather-like material that is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is for parents who like to explore and are always on the move. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on field and forest trails and the front 3 wheel tandem stroller can be rotated and locked to give you more flexibility. It also has a padded 5-point safety harness as well as a front bar to ensure your child is safe on all trips and the parking brake effectively stops the stroller from moving even when you are taking a break. The comfortable seat is simple to lower to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy opens up with netting to ensure maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm, to fit the needs of dad or mum.

The Runner will accompany you on your next adventure whether it's a leisurely run, a more strenuous hike, or a long-distance walk. It has a fully-flat lay-flat seat and suspension air wheels for smooth and comfortable riding. The Pace is a different great product from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that is known for its well-designed and no-fuss essentials for parenting. It's the latest and most expensive addition to their bargain lightweight 3 wheel pushchair stroller range and like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable so that you can use it right from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some fantastic design features, like a rose-gold shade on the chassis, hood and stroller trims, which really set it apart. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are stylish and there is an option to add a co-ordinating handle for the cover and bumper bar too.

It is suitable from birth up to a maximum weight of 22kg and the stroller seat converts easily from the carrycot to the 2-in-1 reversible mode. It can be facing the parent or the world. The stroller seat has several lie-back positions, plus comfortable padded leg rests, and an extended sun canopy with hidden zip sections, a viewing see-through flap, and retractable visor.

When folded it's Pace measures 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair, among others. Two buttons on either side are easy to use and click into place.

Bugaboo Fox 5,

Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis features a shorter 3 wheel stroller and car seat width, making it more manoeuvrable than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two kids - an eight-week-old and a toddler - on rocky roads, grassy wooded walks and even cobblestones.

The wheels that are puncture-proof are large in size - 22cm and a whopping 30cm - which means they can handle lots of different terrains. They also come with an easy flap that opens or closes to allow more air to enter when you require it, which is a nice addition. It's a bit larger than some pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable and the frame and faux leather grips are easy to clean. It's also much quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt comfortable using it in busy city streets. It has integrated accessory points, so you can attach parasols and footmuffs as well as changing bags or snack trays, and even snack trays. You can also use the hood to block wind and rain, although it's not waterproof. The single pram can be outfitted with the Comfort Wheeled board (not included) which allows your child more legroom. It took about 20 minutes to set up the bassinet, and a similar amount of time to transform it into the seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

If you're taking a morning jog under the stars or taking a moonlit stroll in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge transforms every moment into a shared one. This all-terrain stroller is designed to keep you and the child active.
